Liam's Sandbox
Liam joined Reprise Media, the specialty business unit for paid-search and paid-social (and mobile!) back in 2009. Prior to that he had worked at a start-up for a couple of months, and before that, at Microsoft as a senior program/product manager, helping build and launch Bing, Microsoft's then-new search-engine.
At Reprise, Liam's primary project was to rebuild and support the internal application and platforms used by the teams to build, manage and report/optimize the client's accounts. Basically, build v2.0 of the existing suite of tools and applications.
Over several years, and in close collaboration with other super-smart people (who he's friends with to this day!), that's what they did.
But other companies also continued building simialr platforms and apps - and did it better. Marin, Kenshoo and Google's DoubleClick Search ("DS") did more for less. The company ultimately decided to switch to those.
However, those providers still had issues. Made mistakes. Weren't accurate. Liam and his friend built the department to specialize on learning those tools and the involved technologies; finding errors and designing solutions; delivery superior services and expertise.
The Search Ops group has continued to become experts in more and more aspects of the company's workflow, dataflow and technical needs.
Kinesso is the Data/Tech division that was founded in late 2018 (might be 2019?), and was compiled with a number of the tech and data units from Mediabrands and other acquisitions.
Search+ Ops sits within Kinesso, and is specialized in handling paid-search, starting to get into paid-social and is in general also capable for tech-ops (a new service-line that is growing in 2022).
Currently there's an open position on his team, for an Search Operations Analyst Kinesso job. See here for more information on the role and the Search Operations team for Kinesso.
